The GREEN GLOBE RURAL DEVELOPMENT ORGANISATION, registered on May 20, 2007, under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 in Barpeta, Assam, is dedicated to rural development, with a strong emphasis on sanitation and drinking water initiatives. The organization is led by President Chitra Das, Secretary Mahat Ch Kalita, and Treasurer Sanjib Kumar Pathak. Their notable achievements include the construction of low-cost toilets for BPL families and the distribution of water filters. They actively conduct awareness campaigns on sanitation, education, and health in rural areas, utilizing methods like distributing booklets, leaflets, and organizing community meetings to promote hygiene practices and discourage open defecation. The organization’s efforts are primarily concentrated within the Barpeta District of Assam. They have received central funding from the PHED for the construction of household toilets across various financial years. Their work also includes performing surveys on toilet usage among villagers, further solidifying their commitment to improving rural living standards and public health.
To empower rural communities in Barpeta, Assam, by providing sustainable solutions for improved sanitation and access to clean drinking water, while also fostering awareness and promoting education and health initiatives. We strive to uplift the quality of life through direct action and community engagement.
